It begins!

Today is the day people! Lifestyle change will be happening...and it comes with accountability at it's finest!
The friend and I will begin our journey with the well known, highly discussed P90X...although I can't afford the food yet to go along with it, I have some of the necessities to eat healthy until I get paid on Friday.
I've written about this in other blogs and I've told people for the last year and a half that I'm on this diet, this routine, this is being cut out, gonna try this, blah blah blah...nothing ever works for me.
I'm going to start with the p90x challenge and hopefully get down to a comfortable weight/size that will allow me to start jogging and then doing other exercises I have from the Tone it Up girls. I feel p90x will help me shed the pounds and gain strength & stability, while the Tone it Up plan is more for...well...toning and creating lean muscles. I have their diet plan in a binder already and I've used their diets/recipes before. It's a tad pricey to get everything and time consuming which is my biggest problem...I'm a HUGE procrastinator and will tell myself at night, "tomorrow, you're going to wake up early and do your booty call! (that's what the TIU girls call their morning cardio) and then the alarm goes off and I say..nooooooooo sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep." Then promise myself when I get home, I'll do some kind of physical activity. This never happens.
With Tammy being at my house when I get home, I have no excuse...no way to talk myself in or out of doing anything but what we're supposed to do and that's to lose these lame ass pounds, tone the hell out of our bodies, and sport bikinis by next summer like a boss!

So tonight...measurements, pictures, and the routine will begin. Once I start to see/feel results, I'll post some more information.

Until then...in denial Alice is signing out.

Spend Time

I have to seriously be grateful for having social networking for many reasons. It enables you to catch up on people you used to know, family from far away, news about weddings, pregnancies, deaths, promotions, great and terrible things. The main point is, it keeps you connected.

I have a family back East that I rarely get to see because they're my mom's family and I don't get to spend as much time (nor did I get to ever spend as much time) as a girl would like to with their mothers. This is where I'm thankful for social media such as Facebook because I'm able to find out news and still stay connected with my family out there.

Today, one of my younger cousins from Kentucky was taken from this Earth. My poor mamaw discovered him peacefuly gone in his bed this morning. Last time I saw him, I was in my teens and he was so young. Something I didn't know, was that we shared birthdays just 6 years apart. There is never anything good about losing someone in your life, even if you hardly knew them. You've now lost that ability to ever get to know that person. You try to look at the positives out of any situation and the positives in this are pleasant. Regardless of what you believe in, most of us feel that after death, you will be reunited with your loved ones. He is now able to be with his father, whom passed in August of 2006, and our papaw, whom passed in December of 2010.

It's unfortunate that some people have to have an extreme thing happen to them before they can learn a lesson, create a new way of thinking, or change who they are. A lot of people can take away something for any situation, and from this, I'm taking away something I've always believed in. Get to know those around you. Spend time with those you love and surround yourself with people that support you and will care for you. It's important to also be a person to provide care and support as well. Never assume you know exactly what's going on in someone else's life but take the time to listen if they need to talk. Being strong and positive all the time can be tiring on a soul, especially when you receive only negativity, but it's important to have that backbone and chin held up strong.

Live each day to the fullest, take any opportunity to try something new, keep on smiling, spend time with those you love, and keep moving forward.

Intro

Here we are world trying to create what has not been created, do what has not been done, see what has not been seen, and go where we haven't gone. I'm new at this part of the social media world, but I figure it's worth my time to learn and grow with this if I'm to some day promote it.

I recently saw a motivational picture which I've included in this blog for you all to digest as well. I realized that, although a lot of us would like to initially do that, it's just not possible. Several careers are needed in order to keep the world running, and we all know that's not what they'd like to be doing in their down time. However, the things I spend my time doing while procrastinating, I could make an actual career out of. That's exactly what I plan on doing.

Soon I'll be taking courses about film, social media, and marketing. There are limitless things I can do with that knowledge and I plan to do so! I've always been surrounded by great music, culture, and film. Social media is the ever growing industry of our time, and knowing how to market yourself efficiently is all a part of the game.

I plan on using this blog to help me gain control and to better understand how to utilize social media to promote ideas, products, lifestyles, and tips. It will take me a while to learn the tools of the trade and how to format properly, but this is going to be one chunky son-of-a-gun!
